Default First ever photos with first ever digicam (Kodak 6490)

I've been selling digital cameras at Best Buy for about 3 months now, and finally got up enough to get my own. i had been borrowing from work and friends forever. I got my camera, memory card and tripod, and headed home after work. I saw a really nice sunset at the Washington National Golf Course in Auburn, WA, and decided to test this thing out. This is in full auto mode, i just snapped away...what do you guys thing

I like the first one, although you could have turned down the exposure a bit to limit the burned out areas in the right side - the sun.
The second one seems a bit confusing in the composition as the trees in the foreground takes up half of the shot and without adding anything to the shot in general.

I have the feeling I have been there before in the second shot. You stuck in the woods and trying to guess how you are going to get the ball between those tress. Keep up the good work.

I think you're going to have a lot of fun with this camera, tripod, and extra memory card.
