Default blazing sky

I found this circle of trees in a field as I was scouting the landscape just south of Calgary. Not sure why they're planted this way but I tried my luck last Sunday morning at about 5:30am photographing them in the dark. The glow in the horizon is not the sun but rather the light pollution from the city. The trees are lit up with my 10 million candle power spot lamp. Some PS was done to enhance saturation. I also used the lasso tool to select the snow, then desaturated it and raised white levels some.

We also just experienced a blizzard all weekend which gave me the snow I wanted for this photo. It was extremely windy for these shots plus I had to brave -28 celsius to boot. But all in all though I kept saying to myself that the conditions could be worse which made it feel better but only for a couple of minutes.!

Like the shoot, give a warm and cold feeling at the same time. Also thanks for telling us how you made the shot.

Nice! It looks like the trees are ready to start dancing.

Beautiful shot, spy - I love the mix of warm/cold feeling that the pic conveys! But -28 Celsius? Damn, that's REALLY cold Here in Austria we have around +5 Celsius at the moment
