Default NYC Harbor at sun set

It was such a lovely day in NYC. Went for a bicycle along rivers and harbor. And decided to bring my camera. And took some shots. Allot of people decide to do that same 55 degree in jan with no wind. Just perfect day and the light was fantastic at sun down.

shoturtle,

Wonderful pictures, filling the frame. Very robust photography, not to say masculine approach. (Schhhh; someone could hear that)

Yeah, I like filling the frame when it is a big object, for me it gives the eye allot of things to key on. I have to admit, the brooklyn bridge has allot of details and is one of my favorite subjects.

Thanks T for looking

I actually had difficulty framing the bridge, the Peking ship, the buildings, etc., when I was there yesterday. Your shots came out great. All great shots, shoturtle.

Thanks VV,

I saw you were down in my neck of the woods. Where you took your shot is a short walk form my house.

The BB is so big, it is very hard to frame. What angle lens did you use for your?

I used the kit lens. Widest is at 18mm. They say the view of Brooklyn Bridge from Gantry State Park across the river however is better with the downtown Financial District skyscrapers in the background. I keep saying one of these days we'll go there but one day we definitely will.

I see you went down the docks. I wish I had thought of that.

Yes it was low tide, I could get to the piling, to frame my shot. If you saw someone on a black and white mountain bike with a green camera bag, that was me zipping around the bike path.

I have been to gantry, if you like nite shots. Bring a tripod and head there, the state park is close, but the city park is open right next to it.
