She might have big feet. Most models are pretty tall. Most tall women have relatively larger feet.

In all fairness to the model, her proportion is just fine; However rlewis0083 is also quite correct in the critique...

I can offer two explanations:

1. This is a difficult pose for a model to hold still for a minute (I'll get into that in a moment). Her right toe supported all the weight from the lower body, and the right heel did shake (as well as her lower right thigh) enlarging this foot. She also breathed a bit hence the slight blur on her chest which was captured simultaneously by a 2nd camera at slighly different angle and larger magnification (24mm instead of 16.5mm): http://www.pbase.com/nhl/image/121245044/original.jpg

2. This is also partly the consequence of using WA lenses which will distort object closer to the focal plane (remember this is a very small confine), as her right leg is disproportionally larger than her left (which is further from the camera)

Now on to the 50s exposure time, this technique worked because I can be off to 2 minutes down to 30s and the picture will only vary by +1/-1 stop which can be remedied in RAW

Agreed - Nothing that a free-transform can't fix, but this is art some people like the perspective distortion some don't

I just love the texture difference between the cave and the models skin with the transition texture of her hair. Brilliant concept.

Great Image!

But, what happened to the normal GPS data you usually include in your D300 photos? Were you unable to get a lock while inside of the cave, or you just don't want us to find it? :-)

Thanks - Actually this image comes out great in prints - I wish there's a way to picture this, but all the color nuance are lost on a monitor

-> I believe one can greatly enhance this picture with some high-pass sharpening and converting to black and white

The Nikon remote trigger for the 'bulb' setting plugged into the same 10-pin data port as the GPS, hence one has to remove the GPS device

-> The Solmeta GPS comes with it own external remote release, that one can use at the same time, but I can't find it anymore!

This wonderful nudes goes to show, what can be achived with well planned preparedness and determination, coupled with good taste and the ability to set out ones dreams into reality.

Good taste as well as prefessional approach to photography, makes these shots a delight to study. I feel a bit sorry for the model, though, it must have been an ordeal on her part, as the rocks she sat / lay on, are note exactly padded with velvet...

Good work, NHL!

... and I agree.

The image of a cave by itself will not have such an impact or the model alone in a studio, but combining the two turn them into something out from from the ordinary
