That's a nice shot - I really like the composition and the b&w treatment! Is this an HDR? Just wondering because of the branches of the big tree (nice details and sharpness).

I have never come across this expression of `winter cattails´ and don't know its exact meaning, but I guess Terminator is decribing the fact that the newfallen snow clings to every little twig on the trees?

This gives the picture (a HDR?) e very special mood of quietness, muffled silence and IMO a tranquillity to the viewer. It does to me, anyway and it's soothing balm for your soul! Really nice, and the mono works well with the motive!

I wonder if leveling that far shore just a little, would even emphasize the feeling of equilibrium even a bit more...?

The cattails are in the foreground, collapsed and buried by the snow that clung to everything. Yes, it's an HDR.

The clingy snow comes from the fact that we had an extremely heavy snowfall when the temperature was slightly above freezing.

And now that Walter mentions it, I think, I need to level that shoreline just a bit.
