Default Malibu sunset

Visited our daughter and son-in-law's new beachfront house up Hwy 1 in Malibu today. Before enjoying a steak dinner prepared by our son-in-law I caught this sunset from their upper deck. Canon 5D Mark II, EF 24-70 2.8L, handheld.

ok. i have 1 word that should suffice. Stunning.

everything in this shot works well together. the composition and portrait orientation are perfect - the shoreline draws you in and parallels with the sweeping sky that also draws you in. the colors are great, the textures are perfect. hmm. so i guess i had more than 1 word.

Thanks ankriksh, Hards80 and Walter. The vertical perspective worked best here compared with some horizontal shots I took. It was, indeed, a spectacular sight last night.

As a graduate of Pepperdine University, located in Malibu, CA, I'll take this moment to remind you of how our former chancellor described the campus. He said it's the only campus in the world that is wind-swept, mountain-guarded, ocean-washed, sun-kissed and God-blessed.
