Default The sun is coming back to Finland -- TAKE TWO

It's great to see the sun again here in central Finland, instead of 5 1/2 hours of sunlight. Anywhooo, first the shock... This picture was taken with a phone... yes, a phone.. my Nokia N95. I can't wait till I by my Pentax K-7... but, I had to get out of the house and take some sort of picture. This was taken shortly after 1:00 p.m. Notice the sun is not high in the sky yet... but it getting there... I liked the way the sun was beaming through the trees covered with snow and frost. Greetings from central Finland. Ned

Yes, you need that Pentax! If your able to see and take a photo like this with your phone, think of what you'll do with that new camera. I'm really liking the fact that you've taken this near mid day but the highlights are soft and not blown. The light colors of gold, blue, white and grey and the positioning of the sun behind the tree make this a very sweet photo in deed!

You guys are too kind, thanks. I really chuffed to bits when the suns was glistening through the trees... then I thought, I must bear my shame and use my phone... I am desperate... Just kidding, sort of... Anyway, I am looking forward to getting the K-7. Thanks guys. Tke care. Ned

Here is an 800X600 version, thanks to IrfanView... I finally sorted out the uploading problem.

Remember, this is only photo from my Nokia N95... I wish it would have done justice to the sparkle of sunlight through the trees and branches again. Anyway, here is the larger version... Hope it works. Ned

That's an incredible catch of a sunfilled winter-scene. Love the back-lighting and the sun's play on those white branches!

Well done, Ned!

Thanks, Walter! As you would know... if I had a "real" camera.. I could have captured the sun glittering through the ice on the trees... there were snowflakes coming down... but this was fun for now, that is what counts. There is a lot of Nordic beauty and I love to see it captured any way possible. Thanks and take care.
