Default Sun and snow in Papperhavn

Finally I can show a few pic's of sunny snow-scenes, after all these days of fog and cloudy sky.

This is a place very dear to me, way out in the skerries http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skerry , far from the hustle and bustle of dreary everyday-life. A small fishing-place (not even a village...!) by the sea, rather difficult to get there by car in the winter.

I have shown a few pictures of this sleepy little place before, shot in the middle of summer, when evenings are long and mellow, the air is full of gaiety, laughther and other pleasant sounds: There is hollydays, boating, fishing, swimming or just lazying about in the sun.

Photo taken in June, last year, shot at 11 o'clock in the evening! Bliss.....

The same place, shot from the same dock:

As far as you can see - Ice!!

Ice and snow - and some stacked-up lobster-pots....

Lobster-pots are allowed to be used from October 1st until December 31st - after that they have to stay ashore.

Snow, ice and rocks - that's it really! And today - the sun....

Quite a contrast, Walter. I think I prefer the "warmer" images over the icy ones. I've had my fill of winter, too

Very nice Walter. The comparison is awesome for somebody that rarely sees snow.

Thank you both - Gary and Ordo - to stop by and comment!

BTW - I am really getting tired of "all-white" pictures now. Longing for green grass and green foilage in the trees.......and generally more color in nature!

A nice contrast between the summer and winter views. I too am anxiously awaiting the arrival of "green" days. The light in the first photo is amazing for the late hour.

Regards

Wonderful series, Walter, can't help but choosing couple of favourites. The pictures have a lightness and breath clarity and even optimism. 50ies - the light blue

great series walter.

i definitely agree with torgney on #4, that is a great shot, nice balance between the 3 elements in the photo.

i am also really drawn to #2, for the simple presentation, yet clear and wonderful contrast between the red hut and the snowscape.

Fantastic series Walter - nice to see the same scenery in summer and winter... I'm really looking forward to see some nice spring shots from Norway
