Default lonely horse

This was taken in early morning. The sun had risen but was still quite low. A single horse slowly walking around enjoying the peace and quite of the farm.

I'm not so sure about this one. It is certainly creative but just not to my taste. I think possibly it is too many tress to take the eye away, can't put my finger on it.

i actually going to disagree with mark for once here.

i quite like the shot. the strong light and contrast really set off a good mood here. when i first saw it, the adjective that came to mind was magical.

i like the composition too, the horse is placed in good position in the scene, and balanced by the small crop of trees. the lighted parts of the grass make a nice diagonal.

LOL, it proves we are not clones and have our own tastes. Like I say, it's not bad but it's not for me.... well unless Kevin is sending a large framed print, then I will gladly keep it

LOL Mark, I had a huge 10'x16' print half way to you until I read your post. Flying it there by remote control was one of my better ideas so I was able to turn it around. I think it ditched somewhere between Hawaii and here. Oh well......

Thanks for the comments guys. Getting the two of you having a tug of war is interesting!

Mark, I hope you've been scouting the Egyptian landscape for some killer photo opps!

I always read someones comments and I try to see what they see. To my untrained eye, its a good way to learn what to look for.

That said, I CAN see what you are say'n. If for example, the trees in the foreground weren't there....would that change your opinion???

nah the trees in the foreground work in my opinion but maybe the 8 tress leading up the hill behind the horse are just a tad too lillte black canthese be toned down a little?

I have no problems with this photograph. It is very effective and those 8 trees help lead the eye into the horse.

I found the shot instantly striking, and to my eye, very nicely laid out. But as I gazed a little longer, a thoroughly "magical" effect appeared, and the horse appeared to float among the grass and the mist. The horse has a slight halo, which I think is real, but I wouldn't care if it were a sharpening artefact; I like it!

It still makes me feel curiously uncomfortable.
