I like the first shot very much indeed.

And now ,well, I know I'm risking to become unpleasant, but I would have left the tree untouched , with some space on the right as well ( which maybe would have let the whole gun's shadow visible as well )

In any case a great shot ! Keep on posting

Nice first submission. It conveys a mood that describes the peaceful nature of the place immediately. Perhaps the only changes that I would do personally do would have been to show the full shadow of the cannon.

Tell your dad that panorama is outstanding - perspective and the contrast of the vertical soldier and sweeping panorama really catches the eye.

My Dad and I both say "thanks." Due to tourists and ugly, I repeat, ugly construction tape, there would have been no other way to frame my picture.

Chilly,

On page 100 of the photo coffee book, "These United States" there is a picture taken from a spot similar to that taken by your father. Both equally, exhibit the grandeur of the scene.
