I like all three.

First one because of the sun, it's so stunning seeing those clouds through the dim sinlight.

Second one is such a great scenery.

Third one, with the addition of your son the image gains much spirit. Refreshing and makes one think of family
and on the topic of wether to have focus on him or the background, in my opinion you did the right thing having him in focus with a sharp silhouette and a blurry background. I feel that the background is not the main subject and don't want it overpowering your son.

Beautiful photos. My only suggestion is making sure the horizon is straight in the picture with your son, otherwise it looks as though the water is flowing downhill. Here is the picture corrected. This can be done by selecting the whole picture is your photo editing program and going to "rotate" you will have to crop some of the edge, but shouldn't be too much unless it is very lopsided. In photoshop it is located under Edit - Transform - Rotate

Sorry i didn't realize how condescending my post sounded until after i read it again. I'm sure you and most people know how to correct it, so the explanation of how to do it was probably not needed. Sorry.

Don't be sorry ! I appreciate any and all advice . I'm glad you responded. (i posted this photo in the newbie section a while ago not realizing this section existed and stated i new it wasn't level lol) I'm not yet used to the view finder vs lcd(previous cam s5is) I like the view finder better but it's really not ergonomic for me (t2i)...thanks for your response and input!!
