Default Sunset using Photomatix Tone compressor

Hello all,

I decided to give the tone compressor in Photomatix a shot tonight to see what it can do. I love how this turned out. It's not an HDR image but uses all three photos to come up with the best color and contrast to the scene. Let me know what you think. Originals will be posted below

Yes tswen -I like it

Interesting to see the original photos - that the dark cloud in front of the sun is noticeably darker than the others (I guess it might be a different type / composition of cloud? - or just 'thicker')... but in your edit it REALLY brings it out.

Initially I thought 'it's overdone' - but when I looked a 2nd time (and 3rd, etc) - I think - no - this could be like that (natural possibility) - and is certainly very powerful. Also the colours (sky - blue, orange, sun beams) - are much more powerful!

Thanks!! Definitely a keeper - and good incentive to think about using the tone compressor in new ways!

Awesome result! I have not paid attention to Photomatix's Tone Compressor -- now I would. Thanks for bringing this up!
