Default Pond on NY-17K

I don’t know if this is any good so I’d appreciate input.

#1) I was playing around with PSE7 color saturation and clicked on “colorize”. The “hue” slider was positioned to a night-time looking hue so it instantly turned my day scene into night.

#2) I wanted to remove banding in the skies without introducing noise so I played around with the “gradient” tool on a blank layer. Setting blending mode to “soft light” somewhat removed the banding but brightened up the grass in the foreground (which I don’t think I mind).

#3) This is the un-retouched (except for sharpening and cloning out the half-moon which moved between shots) DPHDR output.

I wouldn’t be posting if I wasn’t surprised at the results. But comments, anyone? Ugly? Pretty? Steps too complicated? Cheap? Should I have left the daytime scene alone? Thank you for looking.
