Hi Dwayne

Generally speaking I'm not a big fan of the soft look, however I do recognise those types of photos have their place. (giving it that 'fairyland' feeling.

I think both images are very well suited to this effect, and you've done a good job with both. I particularly like the 2nd photo, and that the blue of the butterfly's wings are captured. I might have cropped a bit tighter around the flower / butterfly, but then again... maybe your version is good that it shows more of the environment that way too.

Cheers

Paul

Nice Dwayne, really like #2. the blue, orange and white is contrasty but yet the photo is soft...like this effect very much. I try to use this effect in some of my photos...big fan of your work.

When I look at the root pic, I'm seeing the route my mtn bike front wheel will take.

Hi Dwayne,
Like both pics a lot. Is that the Orton effect on the first one. I like the big roots in the foreground showing perspective and the trail leading you in. I like the effect as well.
Love the Butterfly the softness and the way you blown out the background.. great.
