Sorry: Heathery Hill; excuse the typo

We left the cottage early in the morning accompanied by five sherpas

There is much to be said about bravery...I can only hope you made it out alive!:0)

I wish I was there walking that path. My eyes are led along until they desire more.

Kevin, I'm glad you're with us. Feels safer

Crossing the river offered no significant difficulties

After several hours of walking we reached Heather Woods. This GPS/satellite photo may give an impression of the current conditions

When we were near our goal the sherpas refused to go any further. The negotiations didn't give any result so we decided to reach for the summit without support. Descendants of Tensing - my behind. We chose the easier way up, as we could judge it

An hour later the clouds had vanished. Weather conditions can change swiftly at these heights. We'll leave you all up there admiring the scenery.
Be careful though, climbing up may be hard but descending is the real McCoy

If you see the sherpas - let them lie there. They're deep frozen. The Yeti will take care of them. There must be some limits to your resposibilities

Torgny,
Whew! Finally made it down, kicking the dead ones out of the way on descent. I am still a little hypo-oxygenated, but they say after a couple of hours that will pass and I will gain some feeling in my limbs. I however, learned a valuable lesson. Never pay the sherpas before the climb, it takes too long to pick their pockets on the way down, risking frostbite.... Great trip! definately worth the risk, certainly brightened my day!!
