Default Marazion, Cornwall, St, Micheals Mount

Hi Chums,
Went to Marazion the other day.
I got out of the van, turned around and this was the first shot I took. The light was fantastic and there was texture, clouds and an island in the distance. I thought i was in Photo heaven for a moment.
Will post the others tomorow, took a few of the island the water silhouettes etc.
Mark.

Looks very interesting. The colour toning of the second one draws me in ....I have to ask what is the cobble stone work for and what is on the island?

Hi Kevin mateyy, Thank you.
The cobble causeway is the only road to the island. There is a window of a few hours everyday when the tide is out and it's possible to walk over to the island.
A large Amphibious vehicle like a giant army duck, ferries visitors across when the tide is too high.

At the top of the island is a castle, there are various buildings and tea rooms below.

Some more pics from the day.

2 Dog walkers,

4 beach walkers with the island behind.
I used the photo filter, orange here, Hopefully itll look like a sun set type effect.

5 the island with cloudy sky.
It's quite an amazing place to go and take some pics, just down the road is oldy fishing villages, amazing disused mines, castles. moor land etc.

Good pictures again, Mark!

My favorites are # 3 and # 4 because of the special glow to the scene. The sunlight bouncing off the cobbles of # 3 is just great! The orange glow in #4 suites the scene. You are slowly becoming a master of composition and moods, and produce som nice pices of photo-art.

Best regards,
Walter

Amazing how many different great shots you got out of essentially one scene. Thanks for posting.

Hi Mark, Thank you very much.
Well, I have cs3, and I,ve been learning the layers and layer masks. I use them all the time. I use the orange photo filter a great deal. also Diffused glow and the blur. I have a topaz filter that makes things look like a painting and i find that really good on a layer.
I have Photomatix and have used that and then put the pic into photoshop. I,m not getting to grip with that program too well yet though.
Am rubbish on a computer but since reading lots of mags, and watching the videos on the free disks and u tube tutorials I,m getting more able to put what I,m feeling into a pic.
I have 2 monitors set up 1 can run a tutorial and on the other i can practice. It's made learning much easier for me.
Thanks again, Mark. Hope to see you at the camera club soon. You cant miss me, I have the tin hat.
