I was thinking the pass up on State 20 Ross Lake got a few spots to stop on that pass as well on over to Winthrop... Love that area so quiet and all that...

Thanks Condorman and VVcarpio.. It took very little planning just pulled off on a side road that a few homes and headed back out to the main stopped and took the shot.. Did use the tripod of course and timed shot which was a little wait... I love it may go get some other shots on the south end next month...looking for some sun setting degrees in the lighting.

yeah, that's another good one. there are some nice spots just over the pass, and along Diablo Lake. the pass itself has a couple of interesting spots... there's a place just the other side before that big hairpin turn, where you can pull off to the left (going east) and park, and there's some trails that lead out onto the bluff overlooking the road. terrific views, but not for the acrophobic... but for nice alpine photos, it's hard to beat Paradise, or Sunrise, or up near Tipsoo Lakes...

Yea and since I am not so acrophobic It suits me fine wishes I had a camera when I went bungie jumping in Gold Bar so many years ago.
that veiw was so grand of that time... it was inthe fall as well... so the colors were golden.
