Default early morning reflection1

Here is another photo from my recent trip around Vancouver Island in a 37 foot power-boat. It was taken just before sunrise in Klaskish Basin. As you can see, the sun has risen on the hills to the south but has not hit the basin as yet. We were stuck here for two days because of high winds on the outside but you would never know it from this scene.

The narrow entrance into the basin is visible on the left side of the photo. Two sailbiats are tied up to mooring buoys. We were at anchor.

Hi Gary and Brooks.
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Yes, this is a beautiful spot. We did a little exploring in our dinghy but didn't see the wildlife that was described in the Cruising Guide. I can think of a lot worse places to spend two days waiting for the winds to die down though!
Regards.

Beautiful Bill, not a bad place to be stuck for a few days. I remember sailing the Chesapeake Bay years ago and stopping for the night in small coves and harbors, definitely a great way to spend a few weeks.

Hi Tom and Darby.
Thanks for the comments.
This was a great spot to be stuck in for 48 hours although there wasn't too much to do after we had explored the river that drained into the basin. The Cruising Guide indicated that we should see black bears, deer and wolves in the estuary but all we saw was an eagle!
