Default Yosemite Valley

Was lucky to be in Yosemite in mid-May before and after the snowfall of 5/14. Hope to return for more shots. Three shot panorama with help from Martin Sykes HDR program.

Wow. The undersaturation works well for me. It gives it a warm, friendly feeling. (Although I think that's snow on the trees.)

Thanks for the look banksy and vv. This was my first trip there and would return in a heartbeat. Yes vv, that is snow - the colors were very muted and almost monochromatic at that time of day (wife agrees).

Very nice! At first glance I thought your photo was black and white. My wife and I really want to get out to Yosemite. However, we fell in love with Jackson Hole, Wyoming on our honeymoon, so it's going to be hard to pass up a return trip there.

Well done paniolo, very Ansel Adams. I agree with you that this is a magical place and worth returning to (again and again).

Default The day before (late afternoon)

Again, thanks for the kind words. In the three days there we were lucky to see the valley in three moods/views. This is a pano taken the day before the snow. There was a female rock climber about a quarter way up El Capitan (8 days of climbing to the top). Hope she made it.

Fantastic shot! There certainly is so much to read up on this area. This area is on my bucket list to go to.

Another lovely shot paniolo. It is my idea of heaven on earth.
Spy, can't believe you haven't been there! Look forward to seeing your shots when you do.

Thanks for the comments spy and banksy.
Spy, you just have to go there to walk in the footsteps of Ansel Adams and John Muir. The valley is very special and has a presence about it.
