Default Cirrus Clouds and Jet Stream

Cirrus clouds are among the highest forming clouds in the atmosphere. When they drift into the jet stream the winds carry the clouds with them (that's what happens to the tops of thunderclouds). For this picture I had the great fortune to have the jet stream directly overhead giving me this incredible view.

Default Cirrus Cloud - Colofr

Thanks for the comments. It was being at the right place at the right time. Here is the color version of the photo. Not as dramatic as the black and white version.
