Default A few from the lake by my house

Been too busy to get away from town, so I tried getting a few in the neighborhood.

1st is a standard shot 2nd is HDR, which one to you prefer?

I like the overall color and mood of the first but like the enhanced detail on the second. Probably if the the first pic's deep orange skies and water reflection were superimposed on the second pic's that will be my choice.

I like the blades of glass in the second set.

I like the composition. I Like the saturation of the sky, but not so much with the grass - makes it look too unnatural. I also don't like the lack of shadow in 3 & 4. I think people tend to way overdo the HDR concept which tends to make things look more 'flat'. So, tone down that processing (whether HDR or shadow recovery) a bit and I think the images will be more effective. Really great view from near your house though!!!!

Very nice compositions. Ditto on the comments from JohnG.

Which part of Utah is this? I'm heading to Zion & Bryce Canyon NPs in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the comments, I normaly wouldn't do HDR on this type of photo. It's fun to play around with though.

Here is a non HDR version of one of the above.

Another HRD

Wingman, I live in the Salt Lake Valley. If you haven't been to Zion before make sure you have lots of memory card space, It's all beautiful!
