Thanks for sharing your thoughts Slipe and Eric. I had the same thoughts and that is exactly why I posted this shot in the first place. These things can be change easily!

Sergio.
The bird was "shot" a couple of minutes before the landscape, which is about 5 minutes walk from where I live. I copied the bird into the landscape. The relative hard compression of the shot - shows it! Good observation - although obvious to most I guess.

I guess I'm too trusting... I never considered that the bird was added.

I love it...it's very poster like....like the ones you end up buying Great job man. How did you bring that fog effect? White background layer on top and gaussian blur? Seems like you have done several areas separately.

I actually didn't add the fog, it was there from the beginning. The colors also, but not the blue sky and the bird -they were both added.
My shooting style often works that way: taking a shot with possibilites, but not nessacary a good one - but with elements from another shot - it can be made into a fine one.

The only demands I have for myself is that they're all MY shots.

The lesser good thing about shooting this way, is that people, who knows my shots, will never believe, when I shoot one great shot. But I don't care, because today you can't tell anyway - not even if the photographer is "lying" about his processing, right ? This doesn't mean, that I won't get up early in the morning to get THE shot of i.e. a rising sun. I do sometimes!

Things has always been this way - the only difference is that, now ordinary people can do this by the PC and don't have to pay lots of money for some graphic people to do the job...

For me , It's the final result that counts!

But what do you think ?

Well worth making a big print of that - if a print will do it justice.

The flying bird is the only part I feel a bit uneasy with - it looks (ro me) just a bit incompatible with the mood. Is there a way to 'soften' its outline slightly, and also make it a little less harshly black?

Very nice! The bird feels a little off. I'm not a seagullologist...I wonder if it's the way it's flying versus its altitude in the photo?

You did a very good job on this one. Excellent photograph. I don't think that you used too much PS.

I think this is really great! I think you could sell prints of that quite easily!
