Default Gloss Mountains State Park, Major County, Oklahoma

Went hiking at Gloss Mountains State Park this morning and walked up to the top of Cathedral Mountain which is 200 feet above the surrounding landscape. Taken with my new T3i. I'm still trying to figure out this camera and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've seen pictures of this place at sunrise and sunset and it is beautiful. But this park is about an hour drive from where I live so I'd have to leave early for a sunrise picture and this area gets hot fast and stays that way even after sunset. I only wish with these pictures that there were more clouds in the sky. It would have made the dynamic range better in the photos and it wouldn't have gotten so hot so fast. It was already almost 100 degrees by 10AM when I left there that day.

I used to have access to a ranch in TX just south of this location and the light ans shadows at sunup/sundown really transform the place. The red dirt almost glows.

David,

I like your series, especially number 3, 12 and 13. They have such great composition lines - makes me want to dust off a sketching pad
