Default More Huashan picture

The weather was bad and it was about to rain. We only made it to the lowest North Peak. With limited visibility, the DOF on these pictures are pretty shallow.

Good-on-yer mate

Certainly - as travellers we have to run with whatever 'todays' weather is ... it's not usually possible to come back a better time

However, I find images #2 & #3 very interesting - small buildings / houses constructed on small terraces on the side of severe sloping hills !!!

and - the numbers of people there > gosh it's crowded
Regards, Phil

Phil,

Huashan is famous because it was used in backdrop of a sword fight in one of the best known martial arts novel by Gin Yung. Everyone in China who has read that book wants to have his/ber picture taken there. To make it situation worse, there is a stone tablet which says "This is the place where the sword fight taken place". Unruly tourists all crowded in front of it elbowing each others try to take a picture there.

If you think there is a lot of people at Huashan, try to go there during the Golden Week (October 1st, Chinese Independence Day) or the Chinese New Year when all the people in China have 7 days off homing in on scenic spots like this.

JJ, Phil,

China has a lot of scenic spots like that. Taoist and Buddhist like to built their temples on far away mountains and steep slope and kind of hidden away. The best example can be seen at the Taoist temple of Wu Dong Mountain which was built during the Ming Dynasty.
