Default Lake Cassidy

finally got a break in the weather that coincided with a weekend! colder'n a brass toilet seat - i don't think it got much above freezing all day - but sunny and bright. i spent the day out poking around wit' da camera... Lake Cassidy is pretty close to home, but it's largely undeveloped. about 2/3 of the shoreline is not accessible by road, and i'm not even sure if there's a trail that gets you there. but it looked kinda pretty today, if a bit chilly! it was largely iced over except for a narrow band of clear water, though the ice wasn't very thick...

Very nice Rocky...the ice really makes this picture exceptional. I was wondewring aout the rule of thirds vis-a-vis the placement of the horizon...but it looks great the way it is showing off the lone desolate tree trunk.

Rocky, yes.... like MVASteve (we actually live in the same city, on the other side of the globe from you!)... and Wingman, the ice 'makes' the picture.

Well done again. Cheers, mate.

thanks, guys! the ice was a big part of what i wanted to capture... the sense of winter's icy grip - or at least as icy as it grips around here!
