I had faith that your new lens would find what it was looking for! Very nice one. Did you have it on full zoom? (I'm off, now, to see what else you have.)

EDIT: You have some stunning photos. The geese are perfect, and that weathered (tree trunk?) is a wonderful abstract.

Hey, everyone, go look at Carl's photos!

Barbara, you're too kind!

The marina pictures were at 70mm, the geese were at full zoom. I had the ISO set to 400 so that I could have shutter speeds around 1/1000 and still have an aperture of 8 for the geese. I did very little photoshop work other than a run through NeatImage and a tweak on the curves with tad of sharpening for the web pictures.

Kindness isn't involved here. Just factual reporting. (Sometimes it's more difficult to take praise than it is criticism, isn't it? Last time I got praised, I talked about eating worms. )

OHenry,

To misquote Lewis Caroll', Twas brillig...

Lovely photography.
On your site, the geese (ducks) in flight are just wonderful.

Thanks Steve....Never 3 putt is my mantra....not that I follow it, but I like to fool myself into thinking I do

Thanks Selvin. The Canadian Geese weren't letting me get too close either! It gave me a wonderful opportunity to test out the panning mode of the IS lens. I won't post the ones that didn't quite work out as well
