Default Trees and Clouds at night

I took this shot about 30 minutes ago outside, and thought the effect of the moving clouds was really nifty.

You're right about it being real nifty

but considering the time of night you're posting this, 30min ago would have given a black sky with tiny little sparkling stars :P

I like the sky! How you did it - I don't care. The final results is what count! There's s lot of sky shots posted in these forums, this sky stands out to me. Haven't seen one like that before. Goodwork.

i'd have to have some really fast moving clouds to do that
my camera doesn't do a shutter longer than 15 seconds

nice shot! "nifty" sky

Glad you guys like it! As far as the 'how' of the picture, it wasn't anything special, but here is the Exif data:
Date/Time 04-Apr-2004 00:23:40
Make Canon
Model EOS 10D
Flash Used No
Focal Length 24 mm
Exposure Time 30.00 sec
Aperture f/3.2
ISO Equivalent 100
Exposure Bias
White Balance (-1)
Metering Mode matrix (5)
JPEG Quality (6)

The moon was REALLY bright, and that is how the sky was lit up blue a tiny bit. Here is another shot, zoomed in on top of the trees a little. I don't like it as much, but here it is:

the old bright moon trick...

I like the first one better, but the second one has kind of a neat X-files alien feel to it.
