There's no place I'd rather be than sitting on the front porch of the river cottage watching the sun rise on a Saturday morning.

I wouldn't mind sitting there myself with a view like that. Nice shot. :-)

I often wondered what the sunrise looks like in Mechanicsville, VA. Very nice job.

Thanks and aloha.

That's not really Mechanicsville. It's about 40 miles northeast near the town of Tappahannock on the Rappahannock River. You see we have some strange sounding names in this area too but with more consonants and fewer vowels. Our original settlers had discovered more consonants by the time they got way over here!

I had a tough time pronouncing some of thewords in Hawaii when I was there last year. How about humuhumunukunukuapuaa. I have that one down pat. That's a big name for a small fish!

I think I have a picture like your avatar. I visited that nut factory when I was on Hawaii.

To Pavaros,

That was in July at around 5:30 to 6:00 A.M EDST. There's so much going on this year I've not been down there yet. I'm really missing it!

Nice shot. Reminds me of an old sailor's adage, "Red sky in moring, sailor take warning; red sky at night, sailor's delight."

Very nice shot. It makes me wish I were there .... I'd probably miss it though since I'm not a morning person :-)

That reflection on the water is stunning, PuckM!

It is as if the sun was shining thru a hole in the early morning sky.
