This one taken in night mode at about 5:00 a.m. on a high alpine ridge in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado

....and this one taken about a half hour or so later. I'm a bit disappointed in the foreground brightness. I tried using flash and it made the light look phony (though it certainly did brighten it!). I tried editing software and it made the effect of the alpenglow on the mountain peaks almost a non-factor.

How else could I brighten the foreground and still make it look natural via either on the camera settings or afterwards with editing?
:?:

Thanks ahead of time.
