and Eric Can... I guess I haven't replied ot this yet!

anyways this is so firring amazing I am so jealous! Where were you? is this near your home?

Howdy discodudette, this was taken at Lac Ste-Marie (Mont Ste-Marie), a more and more popular ski resort in the upper Gatineau Hills (in Quebec, north of Ottawa the capital). But the place is getting more and more popular during summer too, lots of expensive cottage on that lake.

The shot was taken just north of that lake, while travelling to take shots, I was looking for a neat place to catch the clouds forming up at sunset

Thanks and cheers !

well..i have a question

something about this shot, screams professional...lol, and i'd like to see wat it is..

this is wat 12mm? would that make it different...

maybe it's how big the picture you posted is...

i have a pano stitched from two verticals, with a ton of sky in it......but it doesn't have this effect....

the reflection definetely adds to the professionalism..

well...anyone have any ideas?

Well, vito, to my eye it's the expansiveness of the sky that gives this photo the wow factor. It could definitely be the 12mm FL that is doing the trick here.

The variety of different cloud types and lighting doesn't hurt either. I give Eric all the credit for recognizing a memorable scene and having the wherewithal to capture it in all its glory.
