....sometimes it doesn't matter, because the view from our deck, looking towards the Washington State, changes constantly. Sometimes it lasts for only a few moments and then I have to RUN to get my camera.

This was such a case, a few weeks ago. The Olympic Mountains were completely hidden, but this cloud, lit up by the late afternoon sun, was there for only a minute or so.

Canon S1 IS, probably at about 7x zoom.

Hi Herb,

Your photo brings back fond memories of being in the Olympic mountains esp on those days when campsites rested above the clouds and fog and peaks here and there rose above the cloud layer.
