Sorry about the lighting, it was a cloudy - hazy day. Shots were taken several miles east of Micanopy, FL.

Just my opinion - 1 and 2 seem a bit soft to me, 4 just too close up to tell the whole story. 3 and 5 are very interesting though. 3 is surreal, like the forest has simply taken over and run the inhabitants out. 5 has me thinking this building will soon suffer the same fate.

suze,

I appreciate your opinion and you sharing your thoughts. Thank you for your reply.

The second and third houses are leftovers from Florida's sharecropper days ( http://www.uslegacies.org/Legacies/sharecroppers.shtml ). What I get out of the close-up of the chimney is what remains of the heart of that old house. I think of the warmth and light it provided to the family that lived in that wooden house on a cold, windy winter night. I look at it now, old and covered in moss yet still the backbone of what's left of the old place those people called home. I think of the stories it could tell ...

Love the third pic. You certainly get some amazing trees down your way!

All of them are interesting.

#3 and #5 just scream for a bit more contrast and B&W... excellent shots!
