Nice shots, as usual. Can you tell me why the trees in the last few photos do not have any bark on them?

Hi, Thanks for looking. The white bark trees are Karri trees and they do have bark that is smooth and sheds, unlike the red Gums that have rough bark. I love this place, you can go up there and stand in the silence (apart from all the birds that is:-)) and it has a mystical feel about it.

Stand in the silence??Does the park not get much visitation or isthat time of year?

I enjoy your excellentphotos that show the countryside and colorful birds along with the others from Australia that post their pics.

There are many interesting and beautiful places around the globe but have always had the urge to see Australia in particular for myself. Maybe some day.

Yes it gets people although it's never really packed. There are some walks that hike up to areas such as castle rock, a two hour walk return. If you walk into the Forrest for about 15 minutes you are then very much alone, you cant hear the parking or picnic areas. I shall have to get up to castle rock with the camera so I can show people how pretty it is.
