Hi everyone. I was experimenting with movement blur in the sky and whilst this doesn't look to realistic, I'm quite pleased with the results. Let me know what you think...

Hey John - the effect does look good, was it taken like that or is it "elemented"

Hey Jake, its great to see you back on the site. I have a feeling there are going to be many posts coming from your side soon.

It was a decent photo before, but I liked it better after the "experiment". I selected the sky and gave it a motion blur. That kind of "edit" works really well if you have used a time exposure for water movement, then blur the sky using a motion blur.

Hope to see the resluts of your absence shorly.

Dear John, I have seen many sunsets and skies with interesting colours and I always say "If that were in a painting, no one would think it was real." My point is, if you wouldn't have told me it was "man made" as opposed to natural, I never would have known.
All in all it is a pretty peice of art.

I think you can count that experiment as a success!

Being ulta-picky: Is there a little noise in sky section close to the water? Could be it really looks like that of course, but maybe a little blur or despecling close to the horizon would improve the picture even more?

HTH, John.
