Sadly these gardens aren't open at the end of the day when the light's nice and soft, but I'm still pretty pleased with the results, let me know what you think.

This first one was taken as four shots and joined up with autostitch, to give a high-res composite with a much wider field of view than I could have got otherwise. In the print you can just about make out the stained glass in the windows: not at this size though!

And then we have a five image panorama of the "Itanianate" garden: autostitch came to the resue here again.

Being picky, I wish now I'd got the path in the central sections as well as the ends, ah well next year maybe....

Actually I think you've put your finger on it there: I knew I liked that first picture the best, but couldn't figure out why, but you're right it does have a nice "painterly" effect.
