I thought this view of the Statue was different than the ones I've seen. This shot was taken from Liberty State Park in NJ. Comments welcome

Definitely not the traditional view of the lady. The light is quite nice in this composition.

Just out of curiosity, hooba...was the green of Lady Liberty what you saw or was it a tweak?

Thanks

Your right about this not being the traditional view from the front but I kind of like it. The first thinig that came to my mind was like she's standing there at the 'front lines' keeping an eye out for anything coming her (or our) way. Keeping a watch out for her good ol' USA.

Thanks for the cool pic and making one think.

Thanks for the comments everyone.* I was starting to worry maybe I was the only one who liked it.**Digicam fan: About that green color, I am not sure what the deal is.When I look at the picture from my labtop at home, it looks fine.* However, my older computer at the lab where I work makes the statue look more green and more contrasty.* I think it could just be a problem with either my monitor calibration or yours. * *Does anyone else see a strange green color?

It looks like the light green corrosion on a copper penny to me. I think it looks good. Makes the statue stand out against the pastel-ish sky. Good contrast I think.
