Six-thirty in the morning...I pulled out of the driveway going to work and saw this pretty sky and a full moon. I could not resist. Grabbed my LZ2 and...

Sharp pic. How about a set up on that bright red tree in the left side?

This is as close as I could get to a full moon with an Olympus C350Z, a horrible camera. It's not great by far but all in all I can't help but wonder what could have been had I used a better camera...
This was taken at about 2 AM.

Check out the Panasonic forum. There are a couple of pictures of the moon taken with a DMC-FZ30. It will make you feel really bad about your camera. Unless you use a tripod and have a good camera with a large zoom, forget about moon close-ups. That has been my experience. Thanks for sharing your picture, though!

It's funny you should mention but as a matter of fact, my present camera is a Panasonic DMC-FZ30.
I bet I'll get better shots with this one than I ever did with my crappy Oly C350Z.
Cheers and thanks for the reply!

I went back and read what I wrote...I did not mean to sound harsh, rude or anything. Sorry if I came across that way. Have you tried to capture the moon with your Panasonic FZ30? I'd be curious to see the difference. Cheers.

Oh, you didn't sound rude nor harsh.
I didn't get to photograph the full moon with my FZ30 because I only have it for a couple of weeks. But as soon as that full moon comes I'll be sure to snap some and post one or two here. I'm sure the difference will be colosal.
Cheers!

Tullio, can you post the exact link to the FZ30 full moon photos? I can't seem to find it.

I have been trying hard to get a good shot of the moon but I have no tripod and it's really hard to get that right angle. This is the best I managed.

Can anyone tell me what settings should I use or how exactly should I approach this whole thing? I wanna get as much detail as possible, not just a lit bulb like in the posted pic.
