Hi everyone, this is my first post. I'm new to photography after recently purchasing a 300d. I just got a Sigma 10-20mm lens at Christmas and took this picturetoday(Bamburgh Castle). I've been a bit reluctant to postpics due to the high quality of the pictures on the forum but i suppose we all have to start somewhere.

that wide lens really opens up the landscape. it'd be interesting to see this shot in color...

They way the clouds as well as the water seem to direct your eyes toward the castle especially on the left side create a neat effect. I love the black and white pic.

Interesting how the sky glows over the castle in the black and white one. I'm guessing you did something to darken most of the sky.

In the color one I notice there's a greenish hue in the clouds. Did you shoot this in RAW? I use a Canon Digital Rebel at work and sometimes see that in my RAW pictures.

Don't be shy in posting: that's a really cracking picture!

I prefer the b&w version, Bamburg really is a dark and brooding place at times, and this captures it really well

Regards, John.
