Hi All,

I'm new here so thought I'd say hi and show some of the images from my recent holiday in New Zealand

1. They call this pool the Devil's Bath and it gets its yellow colour from the high concentrations of sulphides dissolved in the water. Wai-o-tapu Thermal Wonderland.

2. New Plymouth. Every year the town celebrates the Festival of Lights. It was crowded but well worth seeing.

3. Looking out through the sound at Picton the fog and rain started to roll in.

4. Lake Taupo. This angry looking storm chased us all the way from New Plymouth and we somehow managed to stay just ahead of it.

5. These are more of the thermal pools at the Wai-o-tapu Thermal Wonderland.

Enjoy

I will post images of Norfolk Island some time soon too.

Hi CastAway,

Welcome!!!!!! I like that work shown here....... especially the waterfall over the lights. Some of the colours in the pools are great and the emotion in the storm is also well captured.

Keep on posting.

Mark

Nice shots - especially like the storm ones - good contrast.

Although if someone would have asked me for advice on where to go in NZ, New Plymouth would not be one of my suggestions... I think I went there once in 30 years...Nothing stands out in my mind as worth remembering...But hey - as long as you enjoyed it.
