[size=I am a lecturer in Management and I want to recreate the motivational posters that you see in many shops. However I want to do them with your and my prints. We have a facility at the college to make prints of A2 or A1 size. If anyone has a digital print of good quality that will match with the following management quotes (researched by my students), I would like to print them and display them in my classroom.]

Hi Jaki. Congratulations you are my first reply! Yes it is a challenge but isn't that what motivates us. I am attaching a photo I have used myself. It is taken in Side ,Turkey where I have an apartment. I used acasio Pro 600. It shows the Temple of Apollo at dusk.I am not sure if the caption is totally appropriate but you get the general idea.

The caption reads...

If I can see further than other men, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants.

Thanks

Hi there,

Predictably for a newcomer I have just read the instructions for uploading photos ...after uploading too large a file. I will try again.

not sure if this is the kind of thing you're after, but here are a couple of possibilities... these are, of course, small files that wouldn't print at anywhere near the sizes you're considering, but i have the originals, and can provide those with sufficient resolution to print a 16x20 or perhaps 18x24 image...

Hi squirl033

WOW these are excellent. I liked both of them. Great technique and eye for composition. Thanks a million for your work.

The beautiful landscape is a possibility for the caption

You see things and say, 'Why?', but I dream things and say, 'Why not?'

If I can see further than other men it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants.

What do you think?

The one with the birds is a possibility for a Teamwork poster. It would be better if you had one of geese in the V formation ( or anyone else). I could match it to the following:

Lessons From Geese
FACT 1:

As each goose flaps its wings it creates an "uplift" for the birds that follow. By flying in a "V" formation, the whole flock adds 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew alone.

LESSON:

People who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going quicker and easier because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.

FACT 2:

When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of flying alone. It quickly moves back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird immediately in front of it.

LESSON:

If we have as much sense as a goose we stay in formation with those headed where we want to go. We are willing to accept their help and give our help to others.

FACT 3:

When the lead goose tires, it rotates back into formation and another goose flies to the point position.

LESSON:

It pays to take turns doing the hard tasks and sharing leadership. As with geese, people are interdependent on each other's skills, capabilities and unique arrangements of gifts, talents or resources.

FACT 4:

The geese flying in formation honk to encourage those up front to keep up their speed.

LESSON:

We need to make sure our honking is encouraging. In groups where there is encouragement, the production is much greater. The power of encouragement (to stand by one's heart or core values and encourage the heart and core of others) is the quality of honking we seek.

FACT 5:

When a goose gets sick, wounded or shot down, two geese drop out of formation and follow it to help and protect it. They stay with it until it dies or is able to fly again. Then, they launch out with another formation or catch up with the flock.

LESSON:

If we have as much sense as geese, we will stand by each other in difficult times as well as when we are strong.

Take care

Hi Kanon

I'm sorry that is very offputting. I typed this in a word document and copy and pasted it to the forum. When the inserts came up I presumed that was some kind of formatting that this site used and, when posted, it would omit it. I suppose it will have to stay...unless you know of a way to edit the original.

thanks for the compliments, Jim... unfortunately, the geese didn't cooperate with the traditional "V" formation... i wish they had! that would really have improved the shot, although to be honest, i was more interested in the sunset than the birds at the time!

i'll let you pick the caption best suited for these, though the fact that there are birds in the first pic doesn't necessarily mean you must use a caption about birds, and if it were my choice, i'd pick a philosophical one, rather than a fact... just seems to suit the mood of the picture better, IMHO.

if you choose to use one or both of these, PM me, and we can arrange to get the full-resolution files to you. there would be a small copyright notice in an unobtrusive place, but other than that, the images would be as you see here, with no cropping or other changes, though of course larger. depending on the size poster you want, it may be necessary to upsize the images a bit to produce a good print; let me know what size you need, and i'll make sure the photo resolution is adequate.
