Apparently we've just had the driest January in 100 years: it certainly shows up in the rivers which are both very low, and running clearer than I can ever remember seeing them. The water in the pool here is actually about 4-6ft deep, but you wouldn't know that from how clear it looks!

John.

Just a few paces upstream of the last shot, this one shows how low the river is right now:

Thankyou Steve: Trust me there's normally a lot more water going down that river!

John, I can see your footprint everywhere on these shots. Lovely. Thanks for sharing. Jaki.

Very clear indeed. Lovely shots, John. I particularly like the various tones of greens and browns of the vegetation. What camera did you use to take these shots?

Thanks for the comments guys.

Tulio: I use a Kodak DX6490. To gain a few extra pixels these are both 6 or 8 image stitch-ups (autostitch).

Lovely as always! I really like the little colorful rocks and the smoothness to the rapids in your photos!

interesting that you had the driest January in years... where i live, in Washington State in the NW U.S., we just had the WETTEST January since 1953, and the third wettest month ever!
