First off a close up of what must have been a herd of 100 or more, I can't remember seeing quite so many all together in a single herd before:

And a wider view - I messed up the exposure a bit here - the sun was very low and the whole thing impossibly back-lit.

One of these guys was doing his "prancing horse" impression and kicking his hind legs out at any other pony that came near. But of course as soon as I put a long lens on he stopped: he must have seen me comming I guess :O

Nice shots John..... #1 works best for me. I really should get out to the moors soon as been stuck in Plymouth for too long and it is such a long way to go..... lol.

Have you changed camera's?

Mark: still the same old Kodak DX6490 point and shoot, but I have an Olympus 1.7 teleconverter I sometimes whack on the end to give me 17x zoom :-)
