The angling season returns to the Shropshire Union Canal in Staffordshire. Today there were dozens of anglers every few yards for about 2 miles up and down the towpath.

Shaun it looks like a fishing match was taking place there what with the anglers being so well spaced along the towpath.

Many a time in my youth we would be all settled down into a big match and around the bend would come a barge being pulled by a huge horse and everyone would have to collect their tackle up and move out of the way for the large animal to pass.
Think I might be giving away my age talking like that.
