Like many others of the Pentax club, I bought the Zenitar 16mm fish eye lens. It's amazingly sharp, and dof is very good. Anyway, here's a few shots of my first excursion out with this lens. Depending on where you position the lens, you can get a straight horizon, or about as distorted as you want.....cheers........thekman.

4 This one looks like the trees are being sucked up into the sky. Strange effect.

Very interesting results you got there, thekman. I like #3 in particular. The lens certainly gave the shot very different perspectives. I'm not too fond of fish-eye lenses myself for I find the results so distorted that most shots arepretty muchuseless (for my taste, of course). But, it certainly serves its purposes.

I know what you mean about the distortion, but I find that if you put your horizon in the middle (rule of 3rd's out the window), you get a fairly normal photo. The first shot is like that. It'd be hard to tell it's a fisheye if you didn't know. I'll keep experimenting to see what else I can come up with..........thekman.

Hi Thekman, I like the views looking up at the trees very much, but I'm not so sure about the regular landscapes, especially with that distorted horizon, just my 2c worth...

John.

I really like the tree shot - #3. Very effective.
