Devon, England. The Salcombe to East Portlemouth ferryboat sits idle on the mud banks.

Hi Shaun,

I really like this photo, it's got a lot of potential I think. The composition is very good. Boat position and colour contrast well against background. And good to see some buildings in background too, it's a well balanced photo.

Just a few quick comments (hope you don't mind). I would have tried to get a bit of a higher angle (so the top of the ferry is below where the land on the far bank is, so it stands out "clearer"). Also I'd not choose a blue border on this one, it just doesn't seem to match too well, maybe coz I think there is a bit of blueish haze in the background... seems just a tad offputting.

But I still love the photo! Cool. Thanks for posting.

Remarkable colours and good point of view. Well done, Shaun. Btw, this cute little boat brings another definition to my notion of ferry :-)

Ah, the S2 colors! I love it. Great composition and all but I'd suggest the buildings in the background to be a bit more blurred (shorter DOF) since the boat appears to be the definite focal point.
