My wife and I took a drive into the Australian Alps, otherwise known as the Snowy Mountains (not a very imaginative name, is it?) last month and were lucky enough to catch the first snow of the season. The first shot is a vertical panorama of a light dusting of snow near the town of Jindabyne.

Hope you enjoy the series. Comments welcome.

#4

In 2003, bushfires ravaged a huge area of the Snowy Mountains and surrounding areas, including my home town of Canberra which lost several hundred homes. The contrast of snow on the still blackened landscape and dead trees makes for some surreal landscapes.

Very nice Ollie! I especially like #3. It is pretty cool how you have Winter as we are having Summer!

Ollie, I'm with Bob, #3 is a real eye-catcher. It would make an excellent Christmas card for us Northerners. Here is where my mind starts to wonder off on it own...... If you are in the "Land down Under" does that make us the "Land Up Above?" Never mind, those are darn nice photos mate.

Nice shots Ollie. I like #2 the best. Like the depth and receding footsteps. Reminds me of some of our open spaces in winter....Don.
