Every Tuesday at 7 pm, we have a different band that plays at the beach. Typically, they draw a thousand or more people, just a local event. This was my first trip over, and the band was "Not Quite Fab", a group from Northwest Florida that plays Beatle music. I took these at the event from Crabs restaurant on the beach.
Canon SX40HS and processed with PSE 11, and Topaz Detail3. Critique welcome. 1) The Flower Girl.. ![]() 2) ![]()

These are great Robert. How did you get her to pose so nicely?
It's nice to see grampa posting some photo's of his beautiful granddaughter again. As for critique; The second photo has a shadow over the left eye that seems a little too dark. The eye's seem not as sharp as lines on her shirt. WB is different on each photo (I like the skin tone in the first one). I'm digging hear. The photoshopped vignetting looks off balance to me only being on the top. All minor stuff. The first one looks great. Her looks are really changing. These kids grow so incredibly fast. Great job!

Thanks Mike. All those things you pointed out were rookie mistakes.
![]() I will have to re do those. You are right about her looks changing. She's much more fun to take places now. Next month we're taking her to visit the tiger cubs. Thirty minutes of one on one. I should be able to get some good pictures and she's excited. I can't wait. I'm already planning on a 20X30 ![]()

Thanks Simon. When I joined Steve's, neither one of us had a child to photograph. Now I have Bella, and you have two boys. Your photography has grown with your two sons, and they will be blessed someday to look back on the fine photographs you are taking. Most kids don't have a pro-level photog for a daddy.

Hahaha thanks for your kind words Rob ..... as Bella gets older the more easy she will become to photograph you will be and keep on producing some stunning photos. my eldest is quite good now but as you know he as had loads & loads of practice.
what a journey we have had and hopefully continue to do so. When I first came here I can remember more or less all my photos getting crituque in some way but I turned the cc into a positive and continue to do so trying new techniques on the family and still shooting for free on most occasions I still Love my hobby and hope my boys will grow to love it too as I do.
