Annual family Christmas photo. Very difficult to pull off. You rarely get everyone looking with eye's open. Maybe next year.
Sony A6000, Sony 18-200mm @ 18mm, ISO 640, f/5.6,1/60 sec. Two off camera flash

Very nice Mike. You're lucky to be able to have that much of your family together at the same place. Mine are scattered to the four winds.

I knew an old time portrait photographer who used the old "Watch the birdie!" trick. He had a toy bird on a stick that would flap its wings when he pulled a string. He would set up the shot, then hold the bird where he wanted people to look and make it flap its wings. Got their attention whether young or old, and guaranteed open eyes looking where he wanted. Worked (almost ) every time, and saved him a lot of film and time.

Great!
We get chances rarely to have family pictures but you got one. Lucky you!

Have to agree with you Robert, I am a lucky guy. The family I grew up with have all left the state, but the family I have helped create since are all nearby. Now I'm one of the older ones.

Thanks Maitri. With this flu season being a bad one this year, our gathering was quite a bit smaller then usual. Being the family photog, the kids really look forward to taking this photo every year.
