My wife and I just got back from our first ever visit to Hawaii. Our son and his wife gingerly make their way across the sharp rocks of Kaena Point (once a coral reef)

hi paul,
very nice photos! you couldn't have picked a better place! did you get a tan? and did you go to the dole plant and eat lots of pineapples? we went along time ago in like 1984. |
Thanks John. Our daughter-in-law is still in the Navy and stationed at Kaneohe Marine Corps base (son works there too as a civilian contractor in helicopter maintenance), so we knew if we didn't go while they were there, we never would.
Other than having my camera bag stolen out of a locked car trunk, (among the three lenses I lost was my 70-200 f2.8, it was a fantastic trip. Fortunately, I had my camera with my other good lens mounted on it with me. The Dole plantation was one of the few places we didn't hit outside the city...just didn't get there although we passed it a couple of times, but I still found plenty of wonderful pinapples at roadside stands.
