This is Kaiser, a part of our family for almost twelve years. This picture was taken on Nov. 1st, 2005 (just a few days ago). His one eye looks weird because he was blind in it. Kaiser was the best dog you could ever ask for. He passed away last night, here at home, with his family around him. I am just a mess today. He was my baby.

So sorry to hear about your loss.
As a fellow dog lover I understand just how you feel today.

Time is a great healer and we have to remember all the great times that we got to share with our four legged friends.

Thanks guys. He was my baby. We'd had him longer then our children, so it's been really hard on me. I am sooooooooo glad I snapped a few pictures of him the other day, before he went on the major decline....

The look he is giving me is just so 'him'.......

My son wrote me a beautiful poem today in tribute, I thought that was so sweet of him.

It's amazing how they can get into your heart, isn't it? And you never really realize how much you love them, until you lose them.

I'm sorry; I know how it feels. I still hurt from the last one I lost.

I'm sorry for your loss. My older son had to havehis 14 year old Akita (Keanu)put to sleep last month -- had back and head tumors. My son is an environmentalist and Keanu went to work with him every day. He still hasn't gotten over it. Our pets become such an integral part of our lives and they are just like children.

Sincere condolences. The sympathy from all of us in this forum is genuine. All of us have so many companions so much like yours, we feel your sadness.

Thank you everyone for the condolences. Today was a bit easier then yesterday, but I find myself in the mornings, with the normal rountine, getting ready to call to him or to say goodbye when I leave! I know it will get better/easier with time. It is amazing how much of a difference they make in our lives.
